Pro-Am Golf, Exotic South Pacific Destination

Down town Noumea “South of France in the Pacific”, great food, shopping and leisure activities.

New Pro-Am event in an exciting location very close to home

There is a new golfing treasure in the Pacific Islands at Bourail in New Caledonia, (South of France in the Pacific) about 2 hours’ drive north of Noumea airport set on a pristine white sand beach is the new Sheraton Deva Resort, no expense has been spared here with this $250 million development.
I was invited to go to New Caledonia almost a year ago to look at this new golf resort, one thing lead to another and I eventually got to make the trip a couple of months ago. I wish I had of gone earlier. What a surprise! beautiful 18-hole Dye designed championship golf course, fantastic spa and a remarkable hotel. After meeting with the president of the hotel company that owns the Resort plus the 5 star Meridien Hotels in Noumea and Isle of Pines, I saidyou need to tell everyone about this great golf course and resort”. I suggested one good way to do this is put on a big pro-am tournament, bring in some top professional’s, overseas amateurs plus some local players, he agreed and now the South Pacific Golf Classic is happening.
The event will be like “the best of New Caledonia”, with two rounds of the pro-am being played it Sheraton Deva Resort then a rest day with a trip back to Noumea City, accommodation at the 5 star Meridien Hotel & Casino and the final two rounds played at the excellent Tina golf course close to the city centre.
The tournament will be made up with 40 professionals from the Legends tour including a few big names, the professionals will be playing for $AU60,000 prize money; add in 40 local amateurs, plus we only have room for 40 overseas amateurs
This will be a great week, top quality golf courses, fantastic accommodation, exceptional food , French Pacific culture and plenty to do for the non- golfing wives or partners.  Only 40 overseas amateur golfers event this will sell out quickly.
All the information on this event is on our website www.pacificgolf.co.nz
More pro-am golf in the Pacific!  The Monday after the New Caledonia event most of the professionals and possibly a few of the amateurs will fly from Noumea to Fiji for the second running of the Vuksich & Borich Fiji Legends Classic. This event is played over 3 rounds, one round at the new layout at Natadola Bay and two rounds at Denarau Golf & Racquet Club. Accommodation is at the Sheraton Fiji Resort. The professionals are playing for $AU50,000 prize money plus excellent amateur prizes. This event sold out last year, we have space for 60 overseas amateurs only.
If you want to be a Touring Amateur you may wish to play both pro-am events, we have information on special airfares for those interested in this or either event, however space is limited.
