Playoff required to decide women’s winner

There was a dramatic finish to the women’s division of the New Zealand Under-19 Championship with Focus Jonglikit (pictured) of Waikato prevailing.
Following the three rounds of regulation play at the Nelson Golf Club there was a tie for the lead between Jonglikit and Hillary O’Conner of Christchurch.
A playoff was required to find a winner and it took two holes before the deadlock was broken with Jonglikit holing a 15-foot putt for victory.
Jonglikit started the final round two shots off the lead. She went through the first nine holes with eight pars and a bogey but turned up the heat on the second nine.
She racked up four birdies and five pars for a final round of three-under par 70.
Jonglikit and O’Conner finished the regulation three rounds at eight under par. Jonglikit, from the Riverside Golf Club, had scores of 69, 72 and 70 while O’Conner (Russley) had 69, 70 and 72.
