New Zealand’s big-hitting Ryan Fox has picked up right where he left off in his return to the European Tour, finishing in a tie for eighth at the Betfred British Masters hosted by Lee Westwood.

Fox returned to the European Tour for the first time since the tour resumed after the Covid-19 pandemic put a halt to professional golf in Europe.

The last event he played on the European Tour schedule was the ISPS Handa Vic Open where he finished in second place back in February. He also played in the WGC Mexico Championship before flying home to play the New Zealand Open.

The 153rd ranked golfer in the world fired rounds of 67, 67, 71, and 68 to finish at 11-under par for the tournament, seven shots back of Italian champion Renato Paratore.

He moves up two places into 20th in the Race to Dubai.

Former US Open champion Michael Campbell also got a start on the European Tour this week.

After an opening round of three-under par to feature up near the top of the leaderboard, Campbell unfortunately couldn’t back up his opening round and missed the cut after a second-round of 80.

Over on the PGA Tour top-ranked Kiwi golfer Danny Lee has finished in a tie for 26th place at the 3M Open.

Lee carded rounds of 67, 68, 69, and 69 to finish at 11-under for the event, eight shots back of Michael Thompson.

Lee remains in 45th position in the FedEx Cup.

Also making the cut on this week’s PGA Tour event was left-hander Tim Wilkinson. He finished at seven-under par in a tie for 53rd after rounds of 70, 69, 67, and 71.

On the Korn Ferry Tour Nick Voke has finished at 11-under after four rounds at the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper.

Voke shot rounds of 71, 68, 71, and 67 which left him 10 shots back of Max McGreevy.

Steve Alker also teed it up in this week’s event on the Korn Ferry Tour. He finished in 67th position after rounds of 73, 67, 73, and 72 to finish at three-under.
