WALTON GOLF CLUB-9HOLE GOLFERS ON PAR. WALTON WOMEN TOP FOUR AT 4BBB GOLF

9 Hole Golfers on Par at Walton

The annual Interclub Team competition between Ngaruawahia, St Andrew’s Hamilton and Walton was held on Friday October 2 at the Walton Golf course in surprisingly perfect spring conditions. The 30 players enjoyed this opportunity to rekindle and foster friendships, while undertaking the golfing challenges presented to them. As the scorecards came in, it was clear that most competitors had struggled to play to their handicap. However, there were some outstanding achievements. Best Gross was scored by Fiona Pickett on her home turf. The top three stableford scores were also from three Walton competitors – Michelle Carter, Karen Martin and Jan Parry. Making a clean sweep of the day was the Walton team, who won the Interclub trophy for the Best Stableford Average by a slim margin of 1.20 ahead of St Andrew’s Hamilton team.
