Whitehaven Wines Marlborough Pro-Am

The 6th Whitehaven Wines Marlborough Pro-Am Committee are pleased to have the field of 90 amateurs for this event full already, with the event being played at the Marlborough Golf Course on Thursday 24th September.

This is only possible with the ongoing Platinum support from Whitehaven Wines and our 17 Gold Sponsors – all local businesses. To get this event to proceed under more unusual circumstances with COVID-19 will be a credit to the generosity of the businesses and all players and supporters appreciate this.

The course is currently in magnificent condition, and we are all hopeful that it will stay this way until this prestigious event on all the golfer’s calendars in the Marlborough region. The event will once again be a ‘shot gun’ start at 10.30 a.m. and there are many great vantage places to come along and view 30 of New Zealand’s professional golfers in action, matched up with 90 excellent amateur corporate golfers who come along to enjoy the fun atmosphere and learn some tips from their professional.

Jonti Philipson, Director of Golf Hub Marlborough said ‘Saxon and I are both eager to tee it up with the competitive juices flowing as it’s been such a long time between events for us. The fact that we get to play against some of NZ’s top pros at our home course makes this a really special day for us and we cannot wait! I also think that the pros will be really blown away with the condition of our course this year as it’s in the best condition I’ve ever seen it.’

With so little golf being played on the International circuit at present this event is attracting a very strong field of professional players.
