Canterbury North Women's Interclub

Canterbury North Women's Interclub

The Final round of Canterbury North Women’s Interclub was played at Hanmer Springs recently in cool, overcast conditions and the course in great order.

Going into the Final Round Scargill led the team standings by just 1 point from their nearest rival Hanmer Springs who had the bye and were unable to add to their total. With both Hawarden and Cheviot next on 12 games, Scargill only needed to win two games in their final match against Culverden to safely secure their second successive title.

They managed to do that comfortably winning 3.5-1.5 with Emma Macfarlane defeating Ju Lucas 5/4, Marianne McLean defeating Tammy Bunt 7/6 and Jo Butler defeating Eleanor Youngman 5/4, while Nic Fairbairn halved her match with Sue Satterthwaite at the top of the order.
