Daniel Hillier has bounced back in a big way after a horror opening round at the Isuzu Queensland Open to finish in a tie for 30th at Pelican Waters Golf Club.
Hillier opened with a five-over 77 to be well down the leaderboard, and he bounced back with a nine-under 63 to be four-under and fire the low round of the tournament. He carded 69 and 71 in the final two rounds to finish at eight-under for the event, 10 shots back of Andrew Evans who took out the trophy.
He opened with five-under par in his opening nine, beating his score by 10 shots from the opening day to set himself up for a better day at the office in his quest of making the weekend.
Hillier added four more on his closing nine at the 10th, 12th, 16th, and 17th holes to secure his place for Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile James Anstiss finished three shots further back following rounds of 69, 73, 75, and 66 to be at five-under after four rounds.
He joins Chang Gi Lee at the same number.
On The PGA Tour, Danny Lee has missed the cut at The Players Championship held at TPC Sawgrass.
He carded rounds of 72 and 74 to miss the cut by two. Justin Thomas won the event at 14-under par.
