The furore around LIV Golf continues to heat up with four new players in this week’s event at Trump National, Bedminster. The Trump name is enough to stir the fire.

Jason Kokrak, Charles Howell lll (who openly says that his idol has always been Greg Norman), Paul Casey and Henrik Stenson will tee it up, while Bubba Watson seems certain to be the next signing announced.

The new 2023 LIV schedule will hold events in multiple countries in a genuine World wide move which will include Sydney, Australia. The International series launched this year in collaboration with the Asian Tour, will visit countries such as Thailand, England, South Korea, Vietnam, the Middle East, Indonesia,  China, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Americas and Europe. LIV Golf’s aim to enhance player pathways seems to be well in train.

In other news, Luke Donald has replaced Stenson as Ryder Cup Captain. Multiple PGA Tour winner Hunter Mahan has questioned the legality of banning players who take part in LIV events. He feels there is a big court case coming unless something changes. “How do you do that with all the different tours and stands taken. The players are the ones winning. I’m a little worried for the fans.” He asks if we are not going to see the best players competing with one another?

Finally the word out there, is wait till the PGA Tour’s Fed Ex Cup series concludes late in August and watch more big names exit the PGA Tour for LIV.

Methinks the horse may have bolted for the PGA and DP World Tours to bring LIV into a harmonious fold. Apparently, they completely ignored LIV’s original approaches. Unfortunately, anything from Norman would be like a red rag to a bull for Monahan. Therefore they may no longer be needed as the Asian Tour grows along with the International Series. This may well provide all golfers worldwide with ample opportunities to ply their trade.
