Waimairi Beach Metro A & B Champions

It was great day out for Waimairi Beach Golf Club at Coringa Golf Club where the Metro A and B Finals were played in fine conditions and the course in great order.
The event was player earlier in April.
In a first for the Waimairi Beach Golf Club both their Metro A and B teams won their respective Finals. In Metro A Waimairi Beach's team (pictured above) of Steve Priest, Grant Bunting, Uinisoni Saafi, Gary Eyre, Craig Prior, Craig Allsopp, Dave Smith and Lloyd Dungey defeated McLeans Island 5-3.

In the Metro B Final between Waimairi Beach and Russley, the teams finished 4-4 at the end of 18 Holes before Waimairi Beach's No.1 Keith Stewart won on the first play-off hole to make it a rare double for the club. The team of Keith, Jason O'Donoghue, Sam Purvis, Dylan Meta, Noel Stewart, Phil Mountford, Warren Benseman and Ray Jack are pictured left.

Both finals were closely fought battles with four matches in Metro A and three matches in the Metro B Finals decided on the final hole.
